Giovana Chanllio
Violin/Viola/Music Theory
Peruvian Violinist and Clinical Psychologist, Giovana Chanllio was born and raised in Lima, Peru. Giovana began playing the violin at age 9 and made her solo debut at age 13 with the National Symphony Orchestra of Peru. Giovana has represented her country in tours and festivals, such as Interlochen Arts Camp and Meadowmount School of music.
Due to her experience as a performer, she started teaching violin lessons since she was 13 years old. In the past years, she has taught a wide range of students -who differ in age, cultural background, goals, and level of familiarity with the violin- with successful results.
Giovana now has over fifteen years of experience and she been a teacher for a number of public and private schools and universities, and has been a founder of different violin workshops in Peru.
Students are satisfied with her approach and her flexibility in adapting her methodology to particular needs of the pupil. Giovana enjoys teaching, is experienced with ABRSM exams and her approach is very kind, patient, supportive and she easily finds connection with new pupils.
